Which states still use it for capital punishment?

    From Wikipedia:
Only the states of Washington and New Hampshire presently retain hanging as an option. In New Hampshire, if it is found to be "impractical" to carry out the execution by lethal injection, then the condemned will be hanged, and in Washington the condemned still has an outright choice between hanging and lethal injection.

There may be a move back to it, or the electric chair, which SCOTUS previously held was a constitutional form of punishment. The reason for the return of old sparky? Problems importing and administering the "cocktail" of drugs necessary for the lethal injection.

Ironic, death penalty abolitionists attacking a humane method might force a return to more... problematic forms of execution.

I've never understood why they can't just use a huge dose of morphine.

Or why not car exhaust off of an old Chevy?
Because it induces vomiting and other ill side effects. In concentration the carbon monoxide is toxic and has adverse affects (other than death, of course). The nitrogen is physiologically inert and causes no such effects. One moment you're breathing, the next you're dead due to oxygen deprivation. No suffering, no pain.

The two officers in the shooting are going to be facing multiple charges after the court ruled today.

Two Albuquerque cops will face charges of second degree murder, voluntary manslaughter, and battery in connection with the March 2014 shooting death of homeless man James Boyd, a New Mexico judge decided today.
Preliminary hearing arguments came to a close on Tuesday and the judge ruled that former Detective Keith Sandy and Officer Dominique Perez will stand trial for the killing of the schizophrenic 38-year-old, according to NBC. Boyd's death was captured in a graphic video recorded by a camera on one of the officer's lapels. The footage went viral, prompting outrage and turmoil across New Mexico that culminated with clashes between protesters and riot police with tear gas.

Sorry, I don't get what you're trying to say. The murder victim wasn't trespassing on private property, so no-ones property rights were violated. He was in public.
