post a closer picture of the back of the bolt.... looks like a sporterized milsurp gun for sure.... i am thinking one of the 1903 variants... more pics of the action/bolt would help

Looks a lot like my Mauser action. If you can get a picture of the bolt that would tell a lot. While it looks a lot like the Standard mil-surp action it has the side safety and the trigger guard is definitely not mil-surp, the bolt handle has a differant contour, and the barrel isnt mil-surp (at least in shape).

All that to say if its just a mil-surp mauser it was done right and has a good $1000-$1500 into it.

My money is on a commercial Mauser action, but ive been wrong before. :dunno:

Definitely Mauser based but with commercial bottom metal regardless. Could be the flash in the photo but the receiver looks browned rather than blued....

The only "Tradewinds" rifle in the 14th edition of Modern Gun Values is Husqvarna based, not Mauser.

There might me something under the scope bases. Norma makes .308 Winchester ammo but there is also a 308 Norma mag on a belted case. Might want to have someone look at it before you shoot it.

this link has some info on Tradewinds rifles: Bolt Action Rifles - Google Book Search

I just noticed the stripper clip guide is missing, so either very high dollar conversion (or bubba and a dremel did some work on it), or commercial action.

My 1903a3 action ( With Mauser 98k floorplate).

Yugo M48 (close enough to a real Mauser)

Well The bolt looks a lot like tradewinds but the rest of the action isnt matching up.
