Used to go with my dad to his liquor store in DC from the age of 8-13. Seen a bunch of shoplifters get caught. The one that has stuck most in my mind was when I was 12 and my dad caught a homeless guy stuffing a bottle down his pants. When my dad approached him and asked if he was going to pay for that bottle of Vodka in his pants, the guy got real loud and belligerent. The bum then proceeded to yell that he was going to kill me and took a step in my direction. It went from trying to get a bottle of gin and thief out of the store to a homeless guy on the ground with my dad's size 15 shoe on his throat. I think that was one of the only guys my dad ever called the cops on and pressed charges on in the store.
I've seen some shoplifters at Wal-Mart or Meijer. One thing I can't stand is someone who feels they have the right to take something that doesn't belong to them. I've had my car broken into three different times in my neighboorhood and they have yet to be caught.
I remember when i was about 5 my brother never locked his bycicle up, so they were stolen A LOT. well my dad got tired of buying expensive bikes so he bought him a used bike. this particular bike liked to throw the chain and apparently it was somewhat difficult to get it back on the sprocket. well my brother left the bike unattended and it got stolen. every weekend my dad and i would drive around the lake, on one of these trips shortly after my brothers bike was stolen we came across a young man in his early teens having trouble with his bicycle. lone behold it was some punk with my brothers bike. my dad told me what we were going to do and to not reveal our trap. my dad offered to give this punk a ride to his house and he accepted, so he got in the rear jump seat in my dads sonoma. instead of taking him home dad drove right up to the police station. the look on the kids face was priceless!
i worked at autozone for almost 2 years and things were stolen there all the time. it was mostly kids i went to school with. me and a couple managers devised a code system to know who to watch. if we werent busy they would be followed around the store. i loved to screw with the comp shoppers. they worked for other parts stores to come in and look at our prices.
this year is my first year at college, ad my roommate was a thief and a liar. he tried to replace my new ipod earbuds with some old ratty pair like i wouldnt notice. his desk was in this little cubby between his bed and the closet, so i cornered him in it while he was sitting at his desk. and there on his desk were my earbuds plugged into his ipod. i told him they were mine and took them back, he started to say something about how they were his but i told him to be my guess and call campus police, i had the receipt. just to paint a mental image, im 6'7" and 370ibs, he is about 5'3" and 130. luckily im rid of him now, lets hope my next roommate is better.
