With INGOers saying they would never buy a gun from Walmart why are they getting so bent out of shape because they are dropping ARs? I will admit to buying a Daisy 2202 back in the late 80's from Walmart but in the last 10 years most new guns purchases have been from the same LGS followed by Rural King. But If I go in there tomorrow and see a deal I would not hesitate to buy.

So I have admitted to buying one gun at Wally world, will anyone else admit it

No, but I buy ammo from mine occasionally. Sometimes I go out after the LGS is closed. Or I am at Wal-Mart getting groceries and stop by the ammo counter.

I still buy ammo and guns from my LGS, but Wal-Mart is open 24/7 and has better prices. My local Wal-Mart doesn't have a great gun selection but I'd probably get a 22LR rifle for plinking from them if the price was much cheaper than from my LGS.

A penny saved is a penny earned, and all. I'll go buy all the fun stuff that Wal-Mart DOES NOT carry from my LGS. Like hollow points, pistols, and specific parts and accessories.

It's not bent out of shape, it's a choice. It becomes a matter of politics. If store x doesn't want to sell me product y, I will choose to not spend my money there. We vote with our wallets. I have a choice, buy my products from a company that agrees with my beliefs or choose another company that sells that the same product that does.

Walmart made a choice. It was a poor choice in my opinion so they will no longer receive my money. It has nothing to do with me admitting anything or the guns they stock. Life is all about choices.

No, I have never bought a gun from walmart. I have a pretty funny story about open carrying a gun in Walmart but what is a whole other story.

I don't know if I believe Walmart is dropping AR's for political reasons. What I've seen seems to state otherwise. There has to be a diminishing market for AR's due to the market being flooded with sources. Many (most?) have even built our own from 80% receivers. Perhaps they've just moved on to more marketable items that they feel less competition in sales? Ever seen a walmart with a significant inventory of sporting rifles? Mine used to carry 3 or 4, at least half of which were 22LR. My local gun store usually has dozens of options from various manufacturers. They don't want to compete on that lever because of the space required for that much inventory.

I have also picked up a bb gun or two and, like lebowski said, will occasionally grab up some ammo if I am on that side of town. I have found the folks at my local Wal-Mart to be very un helpful and that is enough to get me to go somewhere else for firearm purchases.

Never bought a gun at Walmart, but I would if they had what I wanted at a great price. When I wanted a 10/22 I searched all the local points of sale—Gander Mountain, Walmart, Dick's, Dunham's, and several regional LGSs. Walmart had the best price on the model I wanted, but it was 45 minutes away. Dick's had the same model for a lower price, and I only had to drive ten minutes. I bought at Dick's. All the LGS were much higher priced, too.

I often buy ammo at Walmart. When they have it, it is cheaper than any local source. I often purchase accessories and targets at Walmart. Always cheaper than any other source. There are five Walmarts in the Fort. The Southside, Apple Glen and Lima Road stores rarely sell guns, mostly .50 caliber muzzleloaders if they have them at all. The Maysville Road store usually has a nice selection of rifles, but I have never seen handguns there. Ammo prices are the same at all of them, but availability varies. Throughout the recent shortage Lima Road rarely had ammo, but supplies were usually available at Maysville and occasionally at Southtown. You just had to get lucky to find it.

For ammo unless the online shop offers free shipping, or $9.99 for an entire order (so I can order in quantity for low shipping), Walmart is cheaper and the quality is acceptable (WWB, Perfecta, Aquila, Federal, Remington, Wolf, etc.). Firearms are different. Walmart can't compete with the online suppliers because it won't sell the variety needed.

I purchase where I get the best deal on the item I seek. I value my cash. Besides, Walmart is only doing what the US government requires. The government passed the laws that forced our jobs out of the country. The unions forced our wages higher than the would have been if left to market forces. (I have been a union member and supporter for most of my life, but that does not change the truth.) Why blame Walmart, and pay more for something than I must, for doing what our traitorous government has force them to do? If you don't like it, stop voting for Democrats, RINOs, and socialists. Support a new conservative party. Donate to that new party the money you save by shopping at Walmart.

Couple of .22 rifles over the years. I know people who have bought common rimfire rifles and pump shotguns. I think this is what WalMart sells the most.

Bought a couple of 10/22s, a Mini-14, and a Remington 870 there over the years.

First gun I were bought at Walmart was a Colt Officer's model, and yes, that was a long time ago......

I spend my money wherever I see fit. Wherever anyone else spends their money is their own business as well.

Bought one of the "WalMart Special" 10/22s a while back. It was a unique model that was not available anywhere else, I had 10/22itis, and I "needed" it. The sporting goods manager told me then that all of WalMart's inventory selections were based upon sales percentage. Any item in any department which wasn't selling at a specific percentage of overall sales would be dropped. Like it or not, WalMart's marketing has proven to be a huge success. I can't imagine they'd change a policy which has worked so well.

I tried to get an AR-15 years ago before learning the evil practices of Walmart. It took 30 minutes before anyone showed up at the sports section and they couldn't do the transfer so I left. This is the same experience I always had even to get ammo...takes forever. It's not that the demand dropped...it's the fact no one wants to wait around just to see what they have or find out they can't buy what they want.

    I do not believe so.

I bought four (4) firearms so far back in time that I didn't pay attention to what I was doing.

The first back in the early 80's was a Marlin Glenfield Model 60 at the K-Mart on Coliseum Blvd in Ft. Wayne for $44.95 + tax. My very first gun my dad helped me buy.

I don't remember the where I bought the H&H .22 revolver, or a Marlin .30 - 30. I remember after all of that I got my S&W Model 29 in .44 magnum with a 6" barrel just like Dirty Harry's at Geyer Arms here in Ft. Wayne. Then I pretty well went dead on buying guns for over a decade. I was reintroduced to the fun of guns at a local gunshow and I quickly got my C&R. I have done a lot of purchasing online and at local gunshows.

As to Walmart I wouldn't pee on them if they were on fire. Their business model and practices are such that I don't want them to get a nickel. Would I shop at another big box store fora firearm? Yes. The problem is most of them don't carry what I am into so I don't even bother looking.

My issues are not with big box stores using standard practices such as buying in bulk. My issues are with Walmart in particular.

    Regards,

    Doug
