The PLO under Yasser Arafat seemed like a more effective organization. It was a terror organization with a slick public relations facade grafted onto the front of it, and could talk the language of diplomacy out of one side of their mouth. Hamas simply lacks that facade. They make no bones about the fact they were only pretending to govern, while actually planning terror attacks. I think this is why the Obamas of the World are shocked into silence by the events of the last week. They're highly emotionally invested in the idea of Palestinian self-governance, and today, there's just no perceived responsible group of adults left on the Palestinian side to negotiate with. "The West" desperately wants Israel to negotiate, but with whom? Hamas is put together differently. They have no interest in negotiation. The Diplomats would *love* for them to put on the face and come to the table. But they just want to kill.

The silence of John Kerry and Barack Obama is absolutely deafening. These putzes have been negotiating with murderers for 14 years. And it all just blew up in their face.
