Kind of hard to criticize Europe for this when they value their borders more than we do.

No, the problem is NATO allows them to defer all defense costs onto the US tax payer. Until they're paying us somewhere around 25% of their annual GDP, we should only be looking out for ourselves.

I agree with your second point.

Europe can absolutely be criticized for embracing multiculturalism. They built welfare states and welcomed Africans, Arabs, and Central Asians that they knew would not be productive. European bureaucrats have embraced people coming from third world/developing nations and threw them into the welfare pipeline to virtue signal their own political correctness.

I understand the same happens to here to am extent, but there are also people that come here from those same third world nations that want to chase the American Dream. They don't want to be part of the welfare state. They assimilate as best they can and expect their children to fully assimilate. They have different backgrounds, cultures and beliefs but they consider themselves Americans. They are entrepreneurs and small business owners.
