    Not far from the tree
I'm with ya , beer sucks dirty donkey *&^ !!!!

On the other hand , Crown , Gentleman or Honey Jack tastes guuuuuuud !

Try some Honey Jack with a cream soda chase . :rockwoot:

    Now that just sounds FOUL.

Stella Artois is pretty fair. I like Grolsch and a few of the leininkugels varieties. India Pale Ales can be hard to like for beginners, but as a red wine drinker, some of the porters or wheat beers might suit you better. Sam Adams is really pretty good as mass produced beer goes. ;)

Lots of fine microbrews out there. Some more consistent than others.
:welcome: to the wild wonderful world of beer.:yesway:

    budlight is beer flavored water.

That is correct. The problem I have with it is that even though it is beer flavored water, it still tastes like beer.

I went through a phase where I tried to teach myself to like beer. I tried mass market swill and fancy schmancy micros. I learned that I can barely stomach pilsners and lagers, can tolerate ambers and actually like some stouts.

If you really hated bud light, find somewhere that pours a decent Guinness stout and try a pint.

I don't know about other places, but the Irish Lion in Bloomington pours a good Guinness and Nick's in Bloomington does too.

    A geographical oddity
Unacceptable for Jamestown. That's all there is to do there! At least, that's all I used to do when I lived there :):

I can't say much because I mostly drink Bud Light and PBR, but I do like Killian's Irish Red, although i haven't bought that for awhile...not sure they still make it

Real beer is not available in a can, nor do they have twist off caps.

If you can meet those two criteria, you're headed in the right direction.

    Bud light. Lol

Try a chimay. There are other beers that are more winelike, but this would be a good example of beer for the wine connoisseur.

Sunking, makes great beer in a can. Local. Great stuff. Not my suggestion for the beginner though.
