Would your insurance even cover the loss if the front door and the safe was unlocked?
"all the money in the world and you can't fix stupid...." I was at an orthopedic engineer's house one night. $200,000+ in Audi's in a 3 car garage. He lost his garage door opener 18 months ago. He would pull up to the garage door, get out, go to the front door, unlock, go thru the kitchen, and hit the button on the wall....and he kept telling me how state of the art the Audi all wheel drive convertible was.....and he couldn't get the garage door opener replaced......
And I REALLY want to see the itemized list he had. This number seems REAAAALY high.
If he had optics and mounts, especially good optics, the total can increase very quickly

Found this video (sorry if it has been posted before)
Greenwood man says $30k in guns stolen from home | WISH-TV
He claims that some of the cases had Browning shotguns, he said too that he's been collecting for many years.
If he had a couple Superposed, especially a Diana grade or a more eleborate model, he could wrap up $6-$11k+ in one gun.

There's a whole 'nuther thread about that...All HO insurance I'm aware of has a limit on firearms..usually like 3 or 5 k....any more than that and your out of luck unless you have purchased additional firearms coverage....

How about if there are no signs of forced entry and a, "door leading into the home does not secure properly," per the homeowner from the first article?

Are collectors that serious REALLY that careless. Do you leave the keys in your Carrera GT with the doors unlocked?
Yeah, If you can afford 30k in guns, you should be able to afford a door that locks. Just sayin'
The saddest part for me is there are probably some MUCHO expensive guns that will likely get sold for pennies on the dollar on the street and get violated... Like some punk taking a $5k Benelli O/U and sawing it off because it would be cool.

FTFY. Carrera GT is sooooo 5 years ago.
