I had an NRA sticker and a "control your kids not our guns" sticker on my old truck for years (and they're still there with the new owner) and it's never had any problems at all, even while living in Stallinois for three years!
But I wouldn't want to have a sticker like was posted anywhere.

snip. That's why my car is covered in Hello Kitty stickers! And unicorns. And gay p*rn sitting on the front seat...

Wonder how this thread would jive together with open carry band wagon if some one were to compare past comments?

That's kinda what I was thinking.

I do not think stickers make your vehicle any more of a target, just as carrying in the open does. Because if you carry in the open is it not in fact the same thing? They both send a message right? To me it is. The only actual gun sticker I have is a "**** on gun control" I have never had any problem is the three years I have had it. It does not attract cops, thief's, road rager's etc. Other then that I just have my Ingo, don't tread on me, and coast guard sticker. My :twocents:

I know what you are saying, and initially agreed 100%. But the more I thought about it, the more I started to see the differences.

When you leave your vehicle parked, a crimminal is counting on robbing it while you are not present. When you OC, it takes a criminal with big balls to attempt a robbery on you. They are prepared for confrontation while the window smasher is looking to stay out of a confrontation.

Other than that, these are very similar arguements.

    I say no.

I was stopped by police for a routine traffic stop.

The cop seemed jumpy, and wanted to get to my vehicle quickly. The first words out of his mouth were "Do you have a g g gun"

I said, why yes I do, now why would you ask me that first?

He said, "The "GOT SIG" sticker on your car"

So in my instance, my sticker was used AGAINST ME, took him several minutes to tell me what I was actually stopped for. The first thing he did was enter my vehicle, and remove my handgun, took it back to his car to run the numbers.

Now because I was truthful, and forthcoming, I was not issued a ticket(Speeding). Rightly so though, since I wasn't speeding, I drive like an old man.

    Where's the bacon?
Absolutely, might as well put a "WTT: Guns for broken windows" sign on your car.

That's why my car is covered in Hello Kitty stickers! And unicorns. And gay p*rn sitting on the front seat...

How do you have a gun, Hello Kitty stickers, a car or gay porn in Beijing? Aren't at least two of those capital offenses?

    No stickers on my car.

As for the stickers vs. OC/CC... Feel free to match 'em up if you have time and inclination.

    Blessings,
    Bill

Used to have an NRA sticker on my car. Hubbies truck was broken into a few times. Removed the NRA sticker from my car, hubbies truck hasn't been broken into since. Vehicles were sitting beside each other in the carport off the alley at home when he was broken into. :dunno:
    See it as you will.

i have a rebel flag & "got mud?" sticker on my truck, some nascar stickers & license plate holder on my car. i do a fair amount of driving up north.. no problems. i think if anything it gives off the vibe that im a poor hick and there's nothing worth stealing in the vehicle lmao

I have a friend in college that had a big sound system in his truck with JL audio stickers all over it and the first week he moved into his apartment it was broke into.

When I bought my laptop i wrapped it up in a big comforter and carried it into my apartment so nobody would see it.

Then I cut the box into small pieces and threw it in the trash. A TV or computer box only lets a theif know you have something new inside.

The best sticker I ever saw said

    "Get away from my truck
And pull your God damn pants up"

I put stickers on my back window of my truck, but never anywhere else.

Here is what that bumper sticker says (IMO):

"Mr Robber, either go away or shoot me before I have a chance to react, because I will shoot you."

I think that many do go away, but you're letting that "oddball" know he just needs to put 2 through your back window and he gets a free gun out of it.
