What's the difference? Pistol grip?
Ya, I passed on getting a holster for mine.
I figure, if your going to carry a Shorty AOW, you might as well let it dangle from a single point sling across your chest.
I may have already held it at Acme when I was there a few weeks ago. I think I might even prefer it to the Serbu. Pardon my drool marks!
^^a rig from them would be very cool but very and I already said that I thought the holster above was more than I wanted to spend!
The difference is that the SSS and KEG, in AOW configurations, came from the factory either as virgin receivers or as built firearms that have NEVER had a shoulder stock on them. A "shotgun" is defined legally using the phrase (paraquote) as a "firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder" and once it's had a shoulder stock once in it's "life", it is forever after considered to have been made from a firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder, and therefore, a SBS, subject to IN law forbidding it and subject to NFA as necessitating a $200 tax stamp, rather than the $5.00 stamp required to transfer an AOW.
The short version of the answer is, "arbitrary BS to further control and regulate people and their firearm choices."
One of these days, I'll be buying one. I have a few other more pressing purchases that have to come first, though.
Blessings,
Bill
I suppose at this point you're already certain that the state and federal governments subscribe to the same definition of SBS.
So, forgive the total n00b question here, but...
The website says: "All NFA rules apply (National Firearms Act 1934)", but yet it is classified as an AOW.
Is that because AOW rules fall UNDER the NFA?
Is that because AOW rules fall UNDER the NFA?
I was thinking it's size, and configuration, make it perfect for that.
You need to shoot one first-- I think you'll change your mind. (about the home defense idea-- you'll still LOVE shooting it!)
The lack of a stock makes it less controllable, and the short barrel makes it a bit tough to hit accurately.
The Serbus/KEG12s are good for 2 things:
Unless you're bigcraig, in which case you can be surgical with one.
- Breaching
- Making people smile
