Ask yourself would you be ok discharging a firearm in a room filled with shoulder to shoulder people.

If I'm needing to discharge a firearm, I need to discharge a firearm.

Room full of kittens or nuns doesn't change things. If lead needs to fly, lead needs to fly.

Thankfully, that situation hasn't happened yet. And I hope it doesn't.

Why am I inclined to guess that it most likely broke during a close encounter of the dumbass kind?

All I'm stating is I understand why they have those policies in night clubs and bars. I don't carry a firearm into a club because I'm not willing to put myself in that situation. That being said I rarely go in to those types of places after spending years working in that environment.

Nope because pat downs work and guns, alcohol, crowds, and confined spaces can be a recipe for disaster.

I agree that someone with ill intentions should not have a weapon, (knife, gun, club) someone with a drinking problem, no. A citizen grabbing a bite to eat, why not?

Ask yourself would you be ok discharging a firearm in a room filled with shoulder to shoulder people.

If I am in a room filled shoulder to shoulder with people there would be no reason to discharge my firearm. If everyone was clambering for cover in an active shooter situation, I would switch from SA to OODA and If I could take action I would. Feeling would come afterward.

Have you ever read From Luby's to the Legislature by Susanna Gratia Hupp ? If Not, Please do.

Kittens are no good for target practice. When one blows up. the others just sit there and lick the blood and guts off each other.

Thanks for the recommendation and I will have to check that book out. I do believe in carrying even in gun free zones. I do believe in clubs being wise in having a no gun policy. Work a few nights as club security and you'll quickly understand why those policies are in place at night clubs. I've had bottles swung at me to knives pulled on me just for simply asking individuals to leave the establishment. I've even had individuals brandish firearms from across the parking lot after they've been escorted outside.

Someone willing to pull the gun out, probably will ignore the sign and carry anyway.
And then you'll be stuck throwing napkin holders.

Well, I was going to point out that my impression is that they portray themselves as a mid scale eatery with a bar, not a night club.

I don't go to night clubs so I have no input, but I agree with Actaeon. If I am present I am armed.

Don't bring "quality" in. Then I'll be out.

Eateries are a different story. They tend to have a lower drink limit and individuals typically don't go to those places to get drunk and wild. I carry concealed in small bars and restaurants, but I don't drink when I carry either.
