    New guy here.
At that price it's worth getting a bunch to throw in the car, drawers, garages etc. When i was OPFOR we used them to draw attention to a location as a diversion;)

FWIW the dollar stores have 10 packs of glow sticks for a buck. They are the size of a small pen, but they work an dglow for about 8 hours.

Mix of about 5 colors in it and the blues and such aren't extremely bright but the green and yellow are very bright.

We use them here for camping and power outages. In the dark one will put out enough light to light a 12' hallway when placing it in the middle.

They are sealed together so you need basically use them all within a few days. At a buck, it's not like it matter IMO.

ETA, honestly I think I'll buy a few dozen. For under 20 bucks you can get 80 delivered. Hard to think you'd be too disappointed... maybe a google search is in order for this company...

Great stuff, very effective and biggest thing: no heat. In case of tornado or similar devastating incident, glow sticks wont start a fire. They are also easy to use and last quite a while, plus no fuel to keep around for keeping them going.

They used to make a thing you could stick the glow stick into that had a slot that could be closed off, so it could make the light come off and on as needed. Crack the stick, throw it in the holder, twist the top to adjust the light coming from the holder.

Funny thing is, drunk friend of mine screwed with a sturgeon in his lake by tying a string to the stick, weighing it down, tossing it into the lake at night (lit) and laughing as the thing would go nuts at it. VERY cheap fun! :D

There are various qualities of glow sticks. Some just glow, others actually produce a reasonable amount of light. Some will illuminate a good size tent or will let you read by their glow.

You get what you pay for and each has different uses. So if you want to illuminate something in an emergency situation then choose a different light stick.
