If this is for real then I think you are . You need to get real and find a real job, or as others have said, go join the military. They have a way to help you decide on a career, just in case you find that you don't like to shoot guns.

What do you proclaim as a real job?? It was a question and i love to shoot guns, i am a gun enthusiast. I have seen it's hard to get straight answers here and people don't stay on topic. All well to each his own.

I'd say you've been given very straight answers. The advice you have been given is to aim a little higher for yoursef than a job that barely requires a 3rd grade education. Would you rather people tell you what you want to hear or what may be better for you?

But, to stay on topic....No, there is no job in Indiana that I know of that allows an employee to shoot a couple of rounds, place the casings in a small envelope, and put in a plastic gun case.

I do wish you good luck in whatever you find to do!

At age 19 you aren't going to be hired to do much with handguns

    I don't know, Shay. I sold a bunch of handguns when I was 19 and younger.:D

Good to see the zeal of youth.:)

Are you at university? I would think an engineering or computer science degree would be an ideal background. What are you studying now?

I know several Purdue grads that are now working in the firearm business from design to manufacture to sales.

If not university, have you considered trade school such as the gunsmithing schools in Colorado or North Carolina. We will always need quality gunsmiths!

Yeah, definetly look into gunsmithing school if you are looking into working with guns. The NRA has a few they run or sponsor, and there is the Pennsylvania Gunsmithing School which is a first class school.

As others have noted, you could enlist and be a small arms repairer/armorer. Being under 21 will hamper you for a job of that sort. If that is exactly what you want to do, I'd be getting into contact with Glock.

I know the guy that actually does this.

His trigger finger is HUGE now and may have to file for disability because it wont fit within the trigger gaurd. His boss just tells him to learn to shoot with his other fingers, but it's pretty humiliating.

I told him if Eagle Creek reservoir ever springs a leak, he'll have a job for life. He just flipped me off, but it was funny 'cause he cant bend his trigger finger, so it looks like he was giving me the peace sign (or victory sign, oh well).

How so? I know many young men, far short of 21 that are working in machine shops working on or making guns and suppressors in the service and out of the service.

Heck, my oldest two nephews like making guns with their dad, and Uncle Kirk. Even if they just sweep up the floor or hand us tools they still loudly proclaim their "help".:D

The Navy or Army does not care if you are 21, just that you know what you are doing. MM3 or Specialist over or under 21, all that matters is you know what to do.

Glockster, remember, education is the one thing no one can take away from you. The more you learn, the greater your ability to find employ as you prefer.:)

If he was making this gesture, then he was still flipping you off. He was just doing it UK style. ;)
