I just wanted to be one that started another Glock thread.

Actually, I've looked at the 26, are there alternatives to a 26 in the sub compact department?

    Kahr seems just too expensive,
Kel Tec, I don't want to work on something to get it to run

What other brands are there that a quality for a decent price AND dependable?

    Yes, lots of them.

Kahr, Kel-Tec P11/PF9, SA XD Subcompact, S&W M&P compact, Taurus Milennium or 24/7 Compact, Bersa Subcompact 9, Walther PPS... need I go on?

Compared to what? The Kahr CW9 and 40 are priced below what Glocks typically go for, and the K9/40 and P9/40 series are priced somewhere between Glocks and SIGs.

You know I'm a Glock fan. If there was no such thing as Glock, though, I'd be carrying my Kahr P9 (which is my "daily driver" during the summer anyway) or an M&P9C.

G26/XDSC/M&Pc will all carry and shoot the same. That's pretty much a brand choice there, they will all work and you can count on them. The XDSC is a half inch taller than the other two though, mostly from the slide design I guess.

I think that Kahr is more expensive, but is thinner and shorter as the others, making it easier to carry. I'd probably have one if they didn't cost so much.

I'd like to shoot one of the little Taurus Millenium series guns some day. If they work well, they seem like a good value.

I'm in the minority on Kahr. I don't like them solely because I can't shoot them effectively. I've tried more than once and I can't do it. I could probably do so if I spent a day with one, but why bother when there are other choices I can shoot well?

Do not discount a lightweight j-frame revolver as well. They're punishing to shoot (and thus not a beginner's weapon, especially not for inexperienced females), but they carry very easily and they work.

You didn't just say that out loud did you?

Something similar to a Glock but not a Glock....? Hmmm.
