I have one. I don't particularly like shooting it. it is very loud and snappy in the recoil department. I can shoot it well enough but would rather not if I can avoid it. it serves its purpose pretty well despite my dislikes.

Thanks for the input VUPD. I was wondering about the recoil. Might have to re-think my purchase. I have a Bersa 380 and a M&P 40. Love both guns, but the M&P is tough to conceal carry.

Pretty much the same opinion. The 23 is an all around better size (I have one of those as well as a 27). Both fit in most of the same holsters, etc.

If you do buy a 27, I'd buy extra 23 mags to go with it. Gives a bit more to hold onto, and a bit more capacity. You can carry it with the flush mount 27 mags that come with it, and carry the 23 mags as spares, and use for range reloads as well.

You might give the 26 a look, as its likely a good bit more controllable.

Do you have the Full Size M&P 40? Might look into the M&P 40C as a companion gun for carry, as I believe those 2 can share mags as well.

I carry a 23. My wife carries a 27. She shoots them both with no problem. The 27 does have an extended magazine floor plate which allows more grip. I don't percieve much difference in the recoil.

I have a G26 and a G27. No issues with either. Admittedly, the G27 is snappier, but that is to be expected. My advise is to find a friend(s) who has one or both and give them a try.

If you are from Fort Wayne, you are more than welcome to try mine sometime. PM me if you are.

I love my 27. I like the sharp snap when I shoot it. It doesn't bother me a bit. I shoot 180 gr out of it and have found the 155 or 165 smacks harder.

I traded some other guns for a 26 and found its recoil with 124gr +p is about the same. So I carry the 27 and will sell the 26.

It is my favorite of all the Glock .40's. For a small .40, it is the only one I've found that I like. I had a Sig P239 in .40 but didn't care for the flip/recoil. That gun works much better in 9mm. The Glock 27, by comparison, is a pleasure to shoot.

The only problem I have with it is the short grip. I just can't get all my fingers around the gun with the flush fitting magazine. The mags with the small extensions fit the problem though.

    Great little carry gun.
I don't find .40 S&W to be all that unpleasant in any pistol. I think people get preconceived notions on how much a caliber is going to "kick" before they even shoot the firearm.

This may sound strange but with my 27 it seems like the recoil is a quick hit whereas with my 45 there is a little longer time involved with it. A snap versus a push. With the .45 I have time to go to the bath room and tie my shoes between shots.

Its summer and I always carry the G-27, in the winter I choose the G-23, ether way, both are all need. I have the G-19, and G-26, but the two .40's handle all my needs. I find the 27 recoil the same (to me) as the 26.
    Try one out then choose.:dunno::ingo::patriot:

Realize what the G27 really is: An EDC subcompact.....Incredibly concealable with an IWB holster, despite its width.

I shoot within the black with it everytime.

Even though it's considered a subcompact it puts 180gr Federal HSTs into a jagged cloverleaf off the bench at 7 paces and I've chronoed those rounds at an honest 5 shot string at 1,005 fps. Pretty good for a "snubby" barrel length. I believe the .40 was developed with the parameters of a 180 grain bullet doing 950 fps.
