Nicely done!IMPD policy on seized guns called into question
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has thousands of guns in its property room. Many of the guns have been connected to a crime. Some of them have not. The police department sends every single gun to the ballistic lab for testing. The data is sent to the federal...www.wishtv.com
I believe there are a few of us.Anybody live in Aaron's district?
The entire “prove you own it” is complete and total ********.While our "conservative" lawmakers seem to be hot to trot on depriving us of 4th Amendment rights currently, it might still be worth contacting state representatives. If you can find a sympathetic ear, you may even be able to give a statement on the floor to express issues. A state law on returning property after a given amount of time, to the person it was take from (if not stolen) would do a lot. I don't think I have a receipt for any of my guns. Several of the guns shops I have bought from no longer exist. Particularly bad news considering this state's love of Red Flag.
I spent nearly what my pistol was worth having Kirk threaten to sue for "conversion". Don't tell him, but I was willing to break open my piggy bank to go ahead with the lawsuit had IMPD not released my pistol.I'm sure the initial argument will be made that inanimate objects have no 4th amendment rights and call it done. (and maintain status quo)
So who has the deep pockets to sue the city?
So now ESSEX needs to continue this story straight to the governor. I doubt the mayor will care how things are.@ESSEX doing God's work
I don't know that Holcomb would concern himself with a Marion County/Indianapolis issue though. So now ESSEX needs to continue this story straight to the governor. I doubt the mayor will care how things are.
Being he lives in indy, works there and signed important gun laws..i would think he might get involved. Pretty sure he is a citizen of that county.I don't know that Holcomb would concern himself with a Marion County/Indianapolis issue though.
He does, and is, but his focus is on state issues and not city issues (as it should be). If this were a statewide problem (and it doesn't appear to be), then he might get involved. This is a local problem and needs to be addressed locally IMHO.Being he lives in indy, works there and signed important gun laws..i would think he might get involved. Understood. I wonder if it happens all over the state and we just don't hear about it.He does, and is, but his focus is on state issues and not city issues (as it should be). I'm sure it might happen in some of the larger cities (especially dem-controlled cities). Probably not in most in Indiana though.Understood. I wonder if it happens all over the state and we just don't hear about it.
