Gander Mountain in Greenwood has an entire table full of 500rd boxes of Remington 22 thunderbolt, round nose... $29.99, limit 2 per customer.

Is this bad ammo? I was surprised to see so much of it there.... only picked up one box, just in case there's a reason people weren't buying it.

I've gone through at least 5 bricks without any issues. It used to have a bad rep for leading but I haven't experienced any problems. It's not the most accurate but it's not terrible.

Unless they fixed things, Thunder'duds' are the best name I can come up with. A few years ago my BIL and I went to sight in his new scope and my sister bought him a brick. I'm surprised some of the rounds made it out the end of the barrel. It turned into an ammo dump session just to get rid of them. With that being said, I do not know if Thunder'duds' are still an accurate description. Hopefully they have since fixed them.

I've used them without any problems. As NotalentBum said they aren't the most accurate but for tinging steel at 50-75 yards they work fine.

I have to chime in also. Just a few years ago I bought some Thunder "duds" and have never used them again. Really bad ammo. If they have become better quality, well then good on them. But the old saying remains, Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me.
