If you wonder why Europe will have a fuel shortage here is a primer for you.
In 2016 China overtook Saudi Arabia as the lead exporter of REFINED petroleum(diesel and gas,see article here https://www.chinasignpost.com/2016/...iesel-fuel-and-gasoline-as-saudi-arabia-does/ ). Also the USA had the title of number one for 2 short years. China has since fallen to 5th,but last year was likely in the top 3(data lag so I have no current numbers).

So the number 2 exporter(Russia) and the number 6 exporter are both out(Unless you are the number 5 exporter at this point...India). In short 16% global refinery capacity is now offline to Europe and the USA. That is why oil markets have been freaking out,and why commodities traders are saying we will run out of supply(in the west). The other interesting stat in all of this is that every one of the top 10 exporters exported 30% less or more in 2020 than they did in 2019 other than Malaysia who exported only 14% less ( https://www.worldstopexports.com/refined-oil-exports-by-country/ ) . I think the next year will likely be one we never forget. Granted the dip in supply in 2020 was largely pandemic induces,the question is why has that supply not come back online?

I would also wager Biden is not going around asking for oil from all our enemies,but refined oil products.

Yeah that's NG they are talking about. So yeah energy/heating prices will go up. Europe from your article imports about 15% of it's diesel from Russia.
