Because those are all the same frame and slide width.I have multiple holsters and my gen5 19/34/45/26 all seem to fit the same holsters I’ve been using for years for older 22/23/17/34s.
Oh interesting. I didn’t know that. I’ve been thinking about the G21 MOS. I wonder about its size.Because those are all the same frame and slide width.
The Gen 5 pistols in .40 caliber have a wider slide than previous generations.
I just looked and the 19g5 is slightly wider than the g3 or g4. I didn’t notice as I did need to loosen up any of my holsters.Because those are all the same frame and slide width.

G21 Gen 5 is the same as the previous generations. It's just the .40 Gen 5 models.Oh interesting. I didn’t know that. I’ve been thinking about the G21 MOS. I wonder about its size.
I assumed all of the dimensions were all the same from g3 to g4 to g5. Thanks for sharing that they aren’t.
Glocks website says they are slightly wider but it may not be enough to make a difference.G21 Gen 5 is the same as the previous generations. It's just the .40 Gen 5 models.

Yeah, depends on the holster. You'll get a better fit with a leather holster vs form-fitted Kydex, but I used to have several Kydex holsters for my older 9mm Glocks, and they worked fine for the Gen 5 G19. Not for the Gen 5 G23, though. There's too much of a difference in slide width particularly.Glocks website says they are slightly wider but it may not be enough to make a difference.
All 9mm Glocks have a 1.0 inch slide width. The only slide they changed was the Gen 5 in 40 cal is now 1.08 inch (basically the same slide as the 45 GAP versions)I just looked and the 19g5 is slightly wider than the g3 or g4. I didn’t notice as I did need to loosen up any of my holsters.
I knew that (in Gen 5) the 27 and 23 were wider than the 26 and 19 respectively but didn't think the 22 was wider than the 17. I fact checked you ... you are right. I learned something.Because those are all the same frame and slide width.

They really do shoot a lot smoother than the older ones, though. Worth a new holster or two, IMO. Sights and mags are the same. When the 40 caliber Gen 5 27 and 23 first came out I was excited ... until I realized that they wouldn't fit the holsters of their predecessors. Then I got un-excited.
I never really had a problem with how the Gen 4's shoot (of course I don't know what I'm missing.) I have to admit also that the wider pistol slides seemed like aircraft carriers in my hand. I purchased the highly-praised G30 Gen 4 a few years ago. Tons of people love that gun but I just couldn't get into it. I really tried. I even shot a bowling pin match with it but it always just seemed absurdly wide to me. I eventually sold it and got the much more narrow 41 and love that one but the slide is the same width as a 17. Then again, I don't like pineapple pizza either. They really do shoot a lot smoother than the older ones, though. Worth a new holster or two, IMO. Sights and mags are the same.
I believe the slide width on the Gen 5 Glock .40 S&W pistols is identical to the Glock 37, 38, and 39 .45 GAP pistols and the heavier duty slide helps absorb some of the 'snappiness' that the .40 S&W caliber is associated with.It does take a different holster than the other Glocks, due to the bit extra slide wiwidth.
