This is not what I had in mind when I wanted people to become more friendly to the idea of armed citizens.
You can bet those that would grab this power and seek to use it for their own desires wouldn’t want armed citizens out there.

I urge everyone to watch this and then think of a name for the situation where "security firms" develop a dominance in a certain geographical area...to the point of monopoly.
This will be interesting to see how it plays out. So, BLM creates their “police force” then what’s to stop this other group to create one of their own? Who gets to decide what the law is and how it’s enforced? Well, if human history is any indication, it will be the one with the most guns and the greatest desire to inflict its will on the other.
and I'm happy for it...
I'd love to see the areas like that go into economic ruin.
Maybe people will learn what way to vote to prevent it from happening again...
Pretty much this, just security groups instead of firemen.

Aside from the interesting conversation with Lopez, I think one of the most telling things about the reality of what's going on is this:
The recording begins with Ald. Michelle Harris (8th Ward) wondering how she could convince businesses like Walmart and CVS to rebuild on the South Side after the destruction.
“It’s like, what are we going to have left in our community?” Harris asks her colleagues before answering herself. “Nothing.”

You mean like health insurance companies, home owners insurance, utilities, or anything else?
Public opinion plays a large role in whether those companies could continue to operate.
My point was simple. An attempt to get rid of government results in government, no matter what you call it.

This is like Dr. Frankenstein creating a monster and bringing it to life, only to later lament that it went on to terrorize the villagers.
Sorry, but at some point these brain dead, power hungry politicos need to reap what they've sown.
Suspect accused of killing retired police captain once got 7-year prison sentence but didn’t serve one day

That already exists thanks to capitalism.
There's 3 rulers you can chose from:
1.) God
2.) The State
3.) Corporations
Plenty of corporations effectively own the state in their local area due to economic dominance and can force laws to be changed to directly benefit them and harm their competition. The state is just the corporation's militia in many of these cases.
Either way, between option 2 and 3, I don't see a tremendous amount of difference besides branding.
It's a good thing ya didn't make a smart alec comment....I mean with you bein' in the AF and all. Kinda like Pee Wee Herman pickin on John Wayne.
And, for the record, I was a Seabee. Great John Wayne movie. One of the few he died in.
1 is actually a choice for 2 or 3. 3 is really 2. Your choice is 2 regardless of what you call it.
