I need to preface this with my method of carry depends on my clothes (I’m a girl – deal). There are certain outfits that I HAVE to OC, but if I’ve got a big loose shirt it’s CC. I always wear a IWB holster because it is the only thing I have found to be comfortable enough for me to wear my revolver. :dunno:

Our new Wal-Mart opened a few weeks ago. It is about 3 blocks from Chicago, just this side of the boarder! I was carrying in my normal fashion, jeans and T-Shirt. My shirt kept getting caught on the butt of revolver so I tucked it around and went on with my life. Nothing I haven’t done a 100 times at other Wal-Marts.

Well, I’ve never seen people scatter so fast. All those Chicago sheep were just waiting for it to jump off my hip and start attacking. Either that or I was looking like I was going to attack the Milkbones.

I guess someone said something to the cop at the door. He comes up, asks me for my LTCH and then asks what I’m carrying (I carry a .327 revolver). He gave me one of those looks (not a bad look but a why are you doing this to me) and asked why I had my shirt tucked around the gun, not over it. I told him that it was but then I had to reach for Milkbones and that’s just where the shirt landed. He just smiled and shook his head (reminded me of the look your dad gives you when he knows you’re going to cause trouble but he can’t stop you). :D

We chatted for a minute or two (about dogs). Then, he said he see me later. I gave him a funny look at which point he answered that he knew I wasn’t done shopping and he was CERTAIN someone else was going to say something. I just smiled and he repeated that he would see me later. Got through the rest of the store without incident – except the whole “parting of the red sea” thing.

All and all, I think it was a good go. :yesway:

Only I've got the rosewood grip. Loudest little snubbie you've heard and a ton of fun to shoot.

    She my baby.

Shopped at the WallyWorld just outside Hessville on occasion OCing and with it popping out from under my jacket. Most folks to get to close but I guess I just look like the kinda riff raff that's supposed to be packing.

Similar thing happened in that same Wal-Mart a few weeks ago... was wearing a COLTS jersey and the handle was hanging out the back. As I walk past a county PO and an couple of employees I heard someone say quite clearly "yeah that's a gun". Walked into the jewelry section and looked at momma who was smirking at me.. and just pulled it down over the XDm. No JBT came and clubbed me like a seal, shopped without a care.

Actually, it's normally kids that notice that I carry. They just tend to giggle or give me a look and walk away. I'm normally pretty invisible to adults.

I kind of like it that way.

Never heard of the parting of the sea response to people OC-ing before. Everyone else seems to think that most people don't even notice it. Thanks for sharing. Glad to see some revolvers being carried out there, and with nice rosewood grips as well !! I hope you have it in leather and not a plastic holster. :)

The parting of the Red Sea due to OC...

I normally CC, so I guess to get the same effect I'll just have to start walking around yelling "I've got a gun!" I think that might actually be more effective, and draw more than just one LEO.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear it went well. Sounds like the officer knew the law and knew he was going to just have to deal with the complaints from the other shoppers. Too bad!

I think that was more due to the fact that not only was I noticed, pointed out, but around people who think all guns/people with guns are evil and criminal.

Lets just say I had plenty of room to shop.

I hate Wal Mart. It's just like a big WT festival everytime I go. I wonder if OC'ing at the Richmond Wal Mart would part the isles or get me shot.

Oh, I definitely "parted the seas" a few times. The most memorable was at pier 1 in fishers. They scattered like roaches. The last time I was at Goodwill without a jacket, I caught a little boy STARRING at it like he was expecting it to jump out of the holster and talk or something.
