Both sheds are full more laying all over the place to split and haul. I'm ahead of schedule ready for winter

It has been over 100 down here in Texas since mid June, so haven’t been running the saws too much. Today was in the 90’s, and next week is in the 80’s. Time to break out the carharts and head to the woods.

I never knew how much a cord was until it was defined up thread.

I’ve probably got 5 cords split and stacked, and enough trees on the ground to double that.

I have a fireplace with a heatilator, that keeps me from having to run the furnace very often.

In a recent conversation with Leadeye, we were talking about how I don't split firewood, the OG runs the splitter entirely by herself. All I do is deliver the rounds (sometimes just poles and she uses her Stihl MS-180C-BE to cut rounds).

Leadeye said "There are very, very few women that know how to run a wood splitter". I just happen to have one of them.



This is all her doing. I just helped her stack it.

You have a good one there. My wife would rather set the logs on the splitter while I run it. I prefer the other way around, but she doesn’t

I don't stick around when she's running it. Any time I try to help, I end up slowing her down or annoying her.

I hate when people try to load when I run the controls, If I lose a finger to the splitter it is my own fault, keep yours out of there. If you want to help stack etc. I do not want to feel guilty for maiming you.

Few more loads and I'll be happy. Got a bunch of Red oak that is solid but full of termites, going to stack in away from any structure and burn it on demand as sheds deplete.

Have any of you welded up a fireplace grate out of rebar? My old grate deteriorated and bent late last season

Has anyone following this thread sold wood to the cooking crowd? I have some cherry that needs worked up and wondered if it would be worth the effort to market it for cooking.

Split and stacked a meager 1/2 face cord last weekend. It's just for my firepit or if for some reason I'd need to cook

Selling the wood to individuals for the purpose of flavoring is tough because they don't consume it fast enough to make it worth your while. Selling to restaurants is tougher because they are looking for a steady supply year round. But if you can find someone to buy it, have at! Otherwise, it makes for good firewood.

Got some good video Saturday of the loggers working. Going to try and get some more before I put the next video together. A few of the trees they've pulled out so far are massive!
