News say he had all kinds of guns.
He did, but on July 18th during the first incident; "In the Virginia incident, Gonzalez was arrested before noon July 19 while driving a gray Ford Bronco sport utility vehicle northbound on Interstate 81 near Wytheville, after reaching a speed of 83 miles per hour, driving in the median several times, and not responding to a Virginia State Police trooper’s signal to stop, prompting other troopers to join a 20-mile chase, according to Wythe County prosecutors. In the SUV, police found two sniper rifles, an assault rifle, a bolt-action rifle, one sawed-off and one intact shot gun, five handguns, more than seven loaded magazines of ammunition and the map, authorities said.
In addition to the marks around the Masonic Temple and White House, handwriting on the map read “Easter mon” and “Manassas Battlefield yellow trail,” said Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney David Saliba.
The only illegal firearm was the sawed-off shot gun, Saliba said, although State Police seized all the weapons pursuant to a search warrant in Pulaski County where Gonzalez was pulled over, and are holding them as evidence. Gonzalez posted $5,000 bond and was released from jail that day, Saliba said."

They don't shoot unarmed men. Or people with knives on them. Or people who were previously caught with firearms and a map to the White House.

Looks like he was there last month with a hatchet but the SS thought it was no big deal.
Earlier, on Aug. 25, Assistant U.S. Attorney David Mudd said, U.S. Secret Service officers saw Gonzalez carrying a hatchet in the back waistband of his pants along the south fence of the White House and questioned him.

Yeah obviously. How many breaches at the White House have we seen during this presidency!!! Remember the reality tv husband and wife people who weren't even on the guest list but made it into an even where the president and other heads of state were there?
The secret service under this administration has been an embarrassment to the office of the potus and a danger to him.

    This is just one more
incident in a long line and there will probably be more Instances where they will show incompetence.

An an individual that had breached that level of security is always treated as if armed!

And they have to operate with constraints.
If the President STRESSES using constraint, then they have to follow those guidelines.
Same as soldiers getting FUBAR'd ROEs.

I don't think you can arrest a guy for a hatchet.

Even in DC in front of the White House?

    D.C. Code § 22-4514 (2012)§ 22-4514. Possession of certain dangerous weapons prohibited; exceptions [Formerly § 22-3214]
    (a) No person shall within the District of Columbia possess any [...] knuckles, or [...] switchblade knife[.]
    (b) No person shall within the District of Columbia possess, with intent to use unlawfully against another, an imitation pistol, or a dagger, dirk, razor, stiletto, or knife with a blade longer than 3 inches, or other dangerous weapon.

I would assume a hatchet is longer than 3 inches

It happens to the best of us

Was that before the map incident or afterward?
You would think that arrest and circumstances might have popped up..
Map incident was July 18th. Hatchet incident was Aug 25th. How this guy evaded radar seemingly without trying is astonishing. I'd hate to think of the damage he could have caused if he had malicious intent.

But as predicted the steady drip-drip of information continues

But it is NOT a knife.

Still that's probably a deadly or dangerous weapon, so a :nono: in DC. :dunno:

D.C. Code § 22-4504 (2012)§ 22-4504. Carrying concealed weapons; possession of weapons during commission of crime of violence; penalty [Formerly § 22-3204]
    (a) No person shall carry within the District of Columbia either openly or concealed on or about their person, a pistol, or any deadly or dangerous weapon capable of being so concealed.

I can't stand this president, but this entire thing is completely unacceptable. There is NO way this gut should have made it INSIDE the door. Just because they didn't see a weapon doesn't mean he might not have an explosive vest.

No intent just walking around with it.

Hard to conceal a hatchet, and it doesn't sound like he was trying.
