"Candor Toward the Tribunal" in Indiana is Rule 3.3 of the Indiana Rules of Professional Conduct, part of the Indiana Court Rules under Indiana Statutes and Codes. Every legal jurisdiction I've ever dealt with or brushed up against, including the military, has a "Rule 3.3". It's pretty much boiler plate. In a perfect world where the rules/laws were followed (aka not the reality we live in) what is the punishment for making these false statements in writing and giving them to the court as facts?
I turned 18 all a senior in high school, registered to vote, and immediately after graduation from Brown County High School in 1978 I was called to jury duty."… some lengthy civil litigations -- in which opposing counsels lied to the court with seeming impunity. Updates?A reminder that SCOTUS oral arguments are tomorrow, Tuesday October 8th.
Get ready for the fireworks if Justices take issue with the Solicitor General having lied to the court. I'm betting my bippy one or more of them will. I expect various Gun Tubers will have videos out by late afternoon and into the evening.
Oral arguments lasted about 1-1/2 hours. Solicitor General represented the Government herself, not with a staff attorney from her office. She misrepresented a litany of things. Typical Government weasel-words. One memorable line from her claimed that cap guns shoot bird shot. It's abundantly clear she knows absolutely nothing about firearms. It's been "submitted" to the justices for a decision. That will probably be forthcoming next Spring. SCOTUS doesn't issue an instant decision at the end of Oral Arguments.Updates?
