I used to get all kinds of "denied" returns when surfing, I found out through my company help desk that I only needed to contact them, explain that the site was associated to safety and they would enable the site to be viewed.

I would not suggest going around the block. Use personal device on personal time..

I did find out like mentioned, if a site or a specific IP returned virus's or other spam or spy or malware our IT guys locked it down and put it on the list. I haven't recieved anything like that from INGO so they have left it alone, at least on my system..

Best of luck, sweet talk them into allowing it for mental health reasons..lol

    Hope you are all well,

    TJ

I like my iPod touch. Perhaps getting an iPad is in the mix.

I was terminated for being smarter than an IT guy. I turned in a supervisor for looking at pornography.

Do not work around any IT guys fix. Yes, it is simple, but all it takes is 1 allegation and you can be fired. Especially if you aren't supposed to "know" the bypass.

    Get a smart phone/tablet. :)

I agree with all of the posts about contacting your IT department and asking for an exception. I manage our company filtering devices and lots of things get accidentally blocked that we don't mind employees accessing. For instance, our goal with banning "time wasting" sites is to keep flash games and other junk blocked because those sites are usually ridden with pop-ups, sometimes viruses and usually some stupid adware/auto-install/back-door/malware/etc program that really just doesn't need to be on the computer. And half the time people have no idea that kind of thing happens when they sit down to play the latest "Zombies vs. Duck-billed Platypus: SUPER INVASION SQUAD #1" that they found.

However, if an employee came to me and said they wanted access to a site like INGO, chances are I would allow the request after browsing the site myself and making sure it was safe. Not to mention something like INGO I would probably register on as well.

I don't know why or how, but INGO is the only site that gets past our companies filters. Gunbroker,Blade Forum, even Cheaper than dirt, all come back " blocked weapons/firearms". But thankfully , not INGO.

Kitty, just ask the IT guy to unblock INGO or have the boss ask him.

My work blocks any gun related site. I asked the IT guys to unblock INGO for me, they did.

That was the way it was at our site too forever, except for the "blocked weapons/firearms" message. It always amazed me that INGO wasn't blocked. But then all of a sudden, at the first of the year, about all of those are accessible.

I have to wait until the boss gets back from Israel. I'm hoping he'll ok INGO. I'll let ya'll know.

Our IT always pulls stuff like this when he is out of town. Last year she locked us out of our MyFax and we couldn't get he to undo it until the big boss got back (2 weeks).
