Some businesses in the south tried that a while back, putting out signs that read WHITES ONLY.

This doctor should have his license revoked for ethics violations.

    First, do no harm.

1- At no time did he say that he wouldn't serve blacks. Unless there has been a new "executive order" (which recently has replaced the concept of passing laws), Obama supporters have no special claims to his services.

2- Nothing unethical happened here. He has not refused anyone any service. He still serves those that come to him for service.

3- He has harmed no one. He has asked them to find someone else to service their needs.

For this doctor, there is nothing political about this. It is deeply personal. Affecting whether he can make a living, his family, his retirement, etc. Seems that he feels that those that want to redistribute his income are the least deserving of service.

Didn't you know? The health care bill was never about health care. It was about control. If it was about health care, they wouldn't spend so much effort on insurance. They would be finding ways to make sure there were more health care providers for all of the people that they want to add to the system. Instead, the new policies will actively reduce the number of providers out there.

Couple of quick items. We (in health care) are pissed. Very.

Not only will we have to pay the taxes like the rest of you (who pay taxes anyway) but we also will get salary cuts.

Secondly it underscores the stupidity of licenses issued by the state (or fed when it comes to DEA aka drug licenses).

You see, this MD could have his License yanked for exercising his free speech.

We need LESS government in health care.

We need to start a slash and burn of government agencies and health care. From the FDA to DEA. We also need to work on State departments as well.

Government IS the reason why so many can't afford health care.

We also need to start paying jurors what their time is actually worth. That means the fry cook who goes to jury duty gets 8 bucks an hour and the nurse get $35 an hour. THAT way we don't need tort reform, we actually have intelligent individuals and actual peers on a jury.

BTW I predict at least 25% less doctors in 2014 unless we overturn oabamcare. No joke.

You might want to go back and look at the context of the statement. It was a response to the quote listed abocve it in regard to a right to refuse service to anyone. "At no time did he say that he wouldn't serve blacks." At no time did I say this either.

Oh really? Then why did you use that as your example? It was your statement that compared his actions to racism. There was no basis for such a comparison. Every time you make such a comparison, expect push back. You will not get a free pass on this.

I think it would be amusing to see a doctor carry through on the following logic:

Obamacare is going to cost the doctors more money/time.
    This money/time has value.
Supporters of Obama and Obamacare are thus responsible for the doctor's costs.
As the ones responsible for causing it, they should be the ones responsible for paying it.
Thus, a pro-rata surcharge should be placed on every Obamacare supporter among the doctors patients to cover this extra cost.

The end result, unfortunately, would not be to get the costs covered. Instead one of two things will happen:
1- The government will become blatant about exercising dictatorial power over what the doctor can and can not charge or
2- The Obamacare supporters will go elsewhere (or at least stop publicly supporting Obamacare).

Even so, it would be amusing to watch.

Hopefully this doctor will extend his principles to their logical conclusion and start refusing Medicare and Medicaid. Socialised medicine is socialised medicine, no matter how long it's been around.

I don't believe he accepts them now. According to one website that ranks Drs. He only accepts bc/bs, cigna and national insurance.
Dr. Jack Cassell (Urologist) - Doctor in Mount Dora, FL - Urology
And I've read elsewhere that he doesn't accept medicaid.

Some businesses in the south tried that a while back, putting out signs that read WHITES ONLY.

Personally I think a private business should have the right to allow who they want to allow in or hire, for any or no reason whatsoever. If they want to put up a sign saying no blacks or blacks only or any other restrictions I have no problem with that.
