My major concern is just bullet setback. Especially with the +P+ rounds I carry. It will increase pressure to unsafe levels. Never heard of it causing a misfire.

    Yeah. That was it.

    Nevermind the misfire, INGO.

I don't worry about it because the one in my chamber lives there until I go to the range. When I hit the range, I swap out my mag to FMJ and the chambered round of social ammo is the first one down range.

Sorry for the misinformation everyone. And thanks for fixing that for me, CPT Nervous.

It won't hurt your MAGAZINES. It is fine to top off your MAGAZINES. A MAGAZINE is NOT a CLIP. A CLIP is NOT a MAGAZINE. Any questions?
Soooooo.....you're saying they're not the same?

I'm going to say it depends on your level of training. If you've taken enough training and you know when that 12th, 15th, or 17th round has left the gun and it's time to load the next mag, NO don't screw with that training and carry the extra round in the chamber.

If you're not the type of person that wants to carry an extra mag, sure go ahead and carry that extra round. In the end I think if you really want that extra round because it may be the one to save your life, carry an extra mag.

    1) fill magazine
    2) insert magazine
    3) chamber a round
    4) remove magazine
    5) insert round
    6) insert magazine

Or save your thumb and just put one round in the magazine in step #1. No reason to force that last round in there twice when you can load the easy first round twice instead.
