    But seriously.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermi_paradox

It is what this thread is about.

Discover magazine just had an article about exoplanets, and how there's more diversity among them than we kinda expected. (Hey - I buy it for the pictures. The articles just happen to be there.)

It somewhat argues for a reduction in the probability of "earth-like" worlds, even among those planets in the goldilocks zone.

Each year, millions of dollars are spent on the search for alien life. And so far they haven’t found anything. But evolutionists like Bill Nye are convinced it will turn up eventually. Why? Because if life evolved here, it has to have evolved elsewhere.

But starting with God’s Word, we don’t expect intelligent alien life to exist. Here is one problem with the idea: all of creation is cursed because of sin. That includes supposed alien life. Jesus came as a man to save mankind from sin, but aliens are not descendants of Adam. A just God wouldn’t create intelligent beings that would suffer from man’s sin but have no hope of salvation.

    No, there are no aliens!

Actually reminds me of some people that want to share the word of god and salvation. I never had an atheist knock on my door, hand me a pamphlet, and my favorite, put pamphlets instead of candy for Trick or Treat.

Some cathedrals have less stained glass than others.

Two types of people... and luckily there's a far more appropriate thread for the discussion of Religion vs Atheism!

Really? I wish I had half the passion of Atheists about their Faith....Here's a guy who gets it...Hint...He's an Atheist...To paraphrase the wonderful Mr. Gillette (in case you do not get a chance to watch the video due to time constraints, "How much do you have to hate someone to believe you have the key to eternal life and NOT share it??"

Christopher Hitchens had no patience for those not willing to spread the word or to truly believe....Here is a clip of him and his friend Evangelist Larry Taunton in a rare joint interview....

I have quite a few friends who are Atheist (or more likely Agnostic like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens) and they are good folks....Very good folks and very open minded as well....Most non believers are much quicker to share their Faith than believers...We had a couple here on INGO (most gone now) that would literally on every post say something like "Well I would thank God my 1911 fed those rounds...If I believed in God...There is no God you see..."

On nearly every post...There is truth to that meme..If you don't see it just have a little Faith...:)

Oh and here is the one and only Atheist Hymn...Very well done I might add...Good for a grin...:)

I problem with his supposed Paradox is the window for us to have evidence of alien life is so small compared to the span of time where that life could have possibly existed and even visited this solar system.

If alien life came to this solar system, would it have been interested in a planet whatever state the Earth was in at that point in time? A planet of fire, a planet of water, a planet of ice, etc. Maybe another planet would have interested them more.

Life really finds a way to exist. We find life in places on this planet where we never expected life to be able to survive. With that, I find it hard to believe that in the Universe we are in that this is the only place where life exists.

Question is, do you believe in intelligent life somewhere else in universe. There's always other lifeforms in our universe.

I'm not so sure I've found evidence of intelligent life withing a 2 mile radius of where I am now.

...but so far there has been no reliable and definitive evidence of other life forms of any kind anywhere but earth....not saying it isn't possible, but possible just means we haven't proved a negative.

We are no where near the level of technology we need to find other life in the universe. When they're talking one way tickets to Mars and it's what, 8-16 months just to get there then we won't discover alien life, it will discover us.
