I did sell the rifle at pre crazy prices to a friend who has promised to sell it back to me should he decide he no longer wants it.

Well now, lets get back to this little tidbit! I haven't seen any rebuttal from the OP yet.....

He refuses to address it with me personally, I doubt he will address it here. I posted to warn other INGO members. 40 rounds of 9mm isn't a big loss but it does show his character.

$2000 is what it sounds like you have, a $1200 rifle, $500 in ammo, a $100 chest rig, and $200 in mags. Good luck!

How hard is it to build an a.r 223 cal

If you can find the parts, and a good set of instructions, it's like building with an erector-set. It's MUCH easier than most people think. There are a few tricks, but for the most part it's a piece of cake.

I assembled my first lower, on my own, with only an internet pictorial to guide me, in about 45 minutes. The upper takes a little more precision, but can still be accomplished by a novice.

My first build now has more than 2500+ rounds through it without the first failure to feed/fire/eject.

I need to pay for school and I enjoy shooting my M1 Garand many times more.

I sold a firearm ONCE to cover school expenses many moons ago.

NEVER again. That's what student loans are for.

Given the current fiscal situation in the U.S., I'd bet on an AR retaining more value than the dollars with which a loan would be paid.

    Wish you the best.
