Several days ago I sent an email to the Census Bureau asking them for the exact amount that it cost to send this mailing so that I could quote it when addressing my congresscritters. I was assured I'd get a response within 24 hours.

I've heard nothing. Why doesn't this surprise me?

The letter was a way to track people, If the letter was not returned they know you in fact live at the address or someone does. You all know there was a reason for sending the letters think about it... just my

Whether you choose to believe it or not, this country is in a civil war. The bullets aren't flying YET. It's a war between left and right, conservatism ald socialism. Our country is divided in three pretty equal parts. 1/3 conservatives, 1/3 socialists and 1/3 of sheep waiting to choose which side will get the upper hand. Socialism and conservatism can't coexist forever. WHEN the bullets start flying, the government and the majority of the sheep will side with the socialists. We can't beat them with bullets or at the ballot box because 90+% of politicians are on the side of the socialists. Socialists need conservatives to exist. Conservatives don't need socialists to exist. Starve the beast!

Think about all the jobs that were created or saved in the printing
industry from all that printing, folding, stuffing and mailing work
that went into getting those "heads up" letters into your mailboxes.
Those were the shovel ready jobs you heard about with the jobs/stimulus bill.

You mean like Minoan civilization was starved by the Thera explosion, or the Roman Empire was starved by the various factors that drove it's collapse, or maybe the way the French beast was "starved" in the time of Louis XVI?

The most likely results of the "starve the beast" strategy is simply not what you seem to think they are. If history is any judge the Terror followed by a Napoleon is a far more probable model.

Frankly, I cannot think of a single historical model where the collapse of civilization was followed in relatively short order (as in years to decades) with a resurgence of "liberty." (And, no, the American revolution is not that model.)

One does not have to have a solution to rising levels of gasoline in order to point out that playing with fire is not one to pursue.
