Is it bad form to ask for a pistol for Christmas? I'm dropping the hint to the hubby for something shiny under the tree this year, that doesn't have a diamond in it. I found a good pistol that fits the need and I'm thinkin' it would look nice wrapped up with a bow and my name on it...:shady:

Yes it is OK. I have wished for so many years to receive a gun at
Christmas and it never happens. If the wife ever did ask she would sure get one.

I don't think it's bad form at all. If it's something you enjoy and would actually use, sounds like a great idea and a gift that will be special. Unlike the 20 candles my mom gives me every year. I don't even light candles. This last holiday season she actually gave me a Buddha statue. And I'm not Buddhist. LOL Of course I always thank her graciously. Maybe this year I'll try asking for a gift certificate to a firearms dealer. Couldn't hurt. Worst that could happen is I get another candle.

OK, IndyJohn is crying "foul" on my post and requires me to clarify a few details:

1.) I had more pistols than he did [until the tragic afore mentioned boating accident].

2.) I also require that all gun purchases be in cash and not credit and I have checked the "firearm piggy bank" and it was emptied recently for a rifle aquisition I may or may not have benefited from. :D

For all the ladies out there, OkieGirl is doing it all wrong. Never hint about anything you want. Men in general are ignorant and don't notice hints and clues very well. If you want a gun tell us you want a gun. Even better write it down or print off a picture. ;)

IndyJohn555 - Just buy the lady another gun already. You have to work for something and it might as well be something worth while.

Why can't my wife ask for such things at Christmas? It's a lot easier for me to walk into a gun shop to do some shopping than it is to have to go into a department store and buy her some purse she wants.

Ya know what they say...."a picture is worth a thousand words".
I d put a colorful rather large picture on the refrigerator of the item desired.

After a conversation with Mark @ Bradis, I think this is what she's wanting

Well I have heard of husbands buying their wives a new car. Look at it like this that Kahr will cost you a lot less.

This!!!!^^^^^^^^For the love of all things great and small!!! This^^^^^^^

My wife and I use the old iPhone and it's picture sending ability to send not-so-subtle hints. It's not very romantic, but it sure takes the pressure of selecting the perfect gift:D
