    Thanks for the info, all.
Also, am I to understand that "Ball" = "Green tip"?
And if I have it right, "Green tip" is light armor piercing because of the steel core?

Ball is just a Military Term. It just means that it FMJ for the most part (Geneava Convention prohibit hollow point) The 62 gr weight gives the hint that its probably 'green tip', which is how the military uses to ID the round. (Red tip, IIRC, is tracer)

I saw a 1000 rnd case of American Eagle 5.56 62gr at Walmart in Anderson for $449 last week. I would'a copped it if it were closer to $400. I just got 1000 rnds from IGC for $.42/rnd (PMC Bronze .223).

Jet girl, go down the street to hillside or Zx. (Yes, I dared mention you should shop at the competition hehe) you can buy 1000rnds for $500 or less. No way is pay the same for brass as for ammo unless you plan to be the next highpower champion at camp perry...

I do actually go other places...And I had planned on going one morning next week to ZX. Never been there yet. I'm usually working when they're open and able to go when they are closed.

Lake City is good stuff. You must remember though, that the primers are crimped and the pockets needed to be swaged before reloading the first time. If your not going to reload, get steel cased wolf or Tula. It's cheaper, a little dirty, but most who use it for plunking don't mind.
