I guess if you want to stretch it. Middle of the day is not really sunrise or sunset, but sure.
Not a stretch at all really. Starting the sunrise at a particular time in the cycle implies when solar noon happens. I could have made the same point I did by saying whatever is your preference for solar noon, because that implies sunrise and sunset.

    The original timekeeper is God.

I understand what you are saying. Was life better or worse prior to time manipulation?
Iife was definitely better before the internet, gps, space race, rock n roll, TV, ....I think just after telegraph and AM radio but without Telephones.....that would be perfect

“Time manipulation” was originally a construct of the railroads to keep trains moving on time so everyone knew when they would come and go. Without “time manipulation” we would have no way to know what time it is anywhere else. What plan would we have if everywhere set their own time?

Time is not manipulated by man. The keeping of time was created by men and tweaked here and there. God didn’t even give us a calendar. People used the seasons and celestial positioning to figure out patterns observed over time. God didn’t give us a clock. People used the sun’s position.

Was life better? Who gets to decide better? Man has invented all kinds of stuff to make life easier. We don’t have dig a hoke to **** anymore. I’d say life is better with modern plumbing. But that has nothing to do with time keeping.

Now about timekeeping’s impact on quality of life, my QoL is better when I have more daylight on the other side of my workday. How well that works for your QoL is not my concern.
