    Interesting. I had never heard of that thing before. However, looking around, there may be a small bit of truth to Mr. Glover's words.

    How do you figure? The Second Amendment was the product of the immediate aftermath of a successful revolution meant to establish a durable republic capable of eliminating any future threat of tyranny. While the imbalance in armament no doubt was helpful to maintaining the peace (i.e., the absence of slave revolts) in the applicable states, concluding it to be a contributing reason, let along a primary reason as Glover suggests, is at best revisionist history at its lowest. Again, that is the most charitable treatment I can give this idea.
