Just dropped the ISP portion in the mail this morning, we'll see how long it takes.

Was going to have it in the mail 3 weeks ago, but ran into a slight issue - Bloomington police department is open till 6, Marion County Sheriff is only open till 4, and I found out from the BPD when I went in between those times that where I live is in this little bubble of Marion County that's for some reason inside the Bloomington city limit >.< Wasn't able to get off work again to visit the Sheriff's office till last week.

It's kinda funny the way the edge of Bloomington is. They've got a map in the BPD's reception area. Three colors - Marion County, Bloomington, and county area inside the city limits that they're trying to incorporate but haven't been able to yet. The outer edge of Bloomington is kinda like swiss cheese with all the little bubbles of county land inside the city limits.

Oh well, with a little bit of luck I'll get it in a couple of weeks here :)

I'm glad they are getting them done fast. I had my computer set up to remind me on May 21 to file my renewal papers my current permit expires on 11/21/09. Money has been tight and I haven't been able to renew yet. ARRRGGGHH!

Just submitted my lifetime LTCH application papers to the local Lafayette PD today. Total cost roundup follows:

$1.32 = 3 stamps for mailing from Lafayette PD to Indianapolis
$0.44 = 1 stamp for mailing "pink slip" portion of application back to me
    $50.00 = Local (Lafayette) fees
    $75.00 = State fees
Free = Notary (through my bank)

    TOTAL: $126.76
    Assuming I live to age 80: $2.27/year

    Here's to the waiting game!

I went downtown to 50 N Alabama this morning, total cost $125 for a lifetime, first time LTCH license, no stamps no additional fees. I took 2 money orders, one for $50 and one for $75.

    They told me 12-14 weeks.

i know this is a thread about a lifetime permit, but i received my 4 year in 2 weeks. They told me 10-12....so i was surprised. I also have a class G license to carry on duty in Florida, so i dont know if that has to do with how quickly i got mine...

So, I turned in my LTCH application to the local police here in Lafayette on 9/8 or 9/9 (I've already forgotten!). I received a letter Saturday saying I was "approved" and they have forwarded my application to Indianapolis. It was stamped 9/11 and the letter was dated 9/9. So, if you're in Lafayette and wanting a LTCH, the local PD is very quick with their processing right now, so now's a good time to submit. Here's hoping for a quick turnaround in Indy!

My renewal time came due right after the ltch became an option. I was one of the first to get one. It took about 4 wks back then.
