These long delays make one wonder if there is any way to hold the ISP accountable for not abiding by the statute:
    IC 35-47-2-6
Granting or rejecting initial application; renewals
Sec. 6. (a) Every initial application for any license under this chapter shall be granted or rejected within sixty (60) days after the application is filed.
I don't see a "we're overwhelmed" with applications exception in there...

I applied yesterday. Non L1 (was told by a co worker who applied in december that we didn't have a L1....we do). So hopefully it wont be 4 to 6 months.

We would have to ask one of the attorneys on this site that handle issues like this

I just called to find out about mine. My last permit was from Alabama. A recording came on that said they are running about 4 weeks on the licenses.

I hung up at that point since it pretty much answered my question :-)

Same thing here. Recording said 4 weeks. When I talked to local sheriffs department they told me if I went through them for fingerprinting it could be up to 18 weeks. Obviously I didn't.

    I applied online Jan 11th 2013.
Got finger printed Jan 18th 2013 at my local Police station. The lady said that the way I was doing it should take 3-6 weeks, but if I would have mailed the application in it would have taken 3-4 months.

Also, why wouldn't there be a place online you could check?
