My wifes took 10 weeks, mine took 11 and a few days. Our fault for waiting until after the election to turn in our paperwork.... Had it all done but just didn't go in to get printed and stuff.

Turned in the MO today for my wife's Life Time LTCH permit. I was told if after 10 weeks it has not arrived to call the SP. So we shall see. I just can't believe that I FINALLY able to talk her into getting it. WOO HOO:rockwoot:

My reading of State law says that they must approve or deny the application within 60 days. It appears their policy is to first cash the check, then work through the piles. To me, cashing the check is proof they've received the application, so I would start counting from that point.

They will say that they are backlogged and therefore cannot comply. My position is that I am often backlogged or have other reasons why I can't comply with State law, yet the State holds me accountable and doesn't care about my backlog.

I called my State rep the first day after my 60 days, and I had my permit within three days from his checking on my application. From reading the posts, I got mine about two weeks before people who applied at the same time.

I urge you all who are over 60 days to contact your State legislator. The State should live up to its own laws. Their backlog is not our problem, and though I appreciate that Indiana has comparatively liberal handgun laws, I shouldn't have to apply for a permit in the first place, so the least they can do is follow their own rules.

though I appreciate that Indiana has comparatively liberal handgun laws . . .

Certainly not "liberal" in the contemporary sense. Indiana has "conservative" gun laws in the contemporary sense. ;)

And I agree with you, btw.

I refuse to give that word up to those who have hijacked it and made a mockery of it with their actions. I never refer to them as "liberals" I call them what they are: socialists. More accurately, most of the sheeple are actually what Lenin called "useful idiots." They don't even know they're being used to advance socialism, they just have their little pet cause that's supported by the socialists, so they vote that way and ignore the rest. Certainly it can't be because Cuba and the Soviet union have been so excellent on the environment, and free speech, and gay rights, and all their other little issues. These are the people who wear and "Che" shirt and when informed that Che murdered over a thousand dissidents with his own hand and ordered the murder of thousands more, they just look at you - in the words of Don Henley - "uncomprehendingly, like cows at a passing train."

    Don't EVEN get me started.

Finall got through, lady said it is 8 weeks since cashing of state money order. Just like what they have been telling everyone else. She said I haven't even gone through the system yet. Which I really find so hard to believe since people that applied same time I did already have theirs back. I will remain patient but become more stringent on checking the status.

applied Dec, about a week before Christmas, and JUST got it in the mail...i was expecting another month based on the posts here...im happy!

Do you remember the exact date? I dropped mine in the mail December 17th, SP should have gotten it the 18th, they cashed my Check the 24th...I sent mine from Bloomington and seeing as you're from Bloomington we might have sent in the same day! Just wondering because I am going to pick up my gun in about two hours most likely! Would be great if it came tomorrow!

I applied 12/18 and was told 8 weeks. But I took it with a grain of salt and I'm planning on 12 to 14 or more due to the paniced society. I only did the 4 years, but when it gets here I'm going for lifetime. Then atleast they'll have 208 weeks to get it to me. =)

So what number are you all calling? And are you asking for the firearms people?

I called the ISP operations center and she tried to transfer me to 317-232-8264 which was busy. So she just asked if I wanted to write the number down and try again. When I finally got through I spoke with some older lady. She asked for name, DOB, date application was sent in.

WOW! Now that kinda puts me off balance. Glad you got yours but makes me curious as to why I haven't received mine since mine was sent in on Dec 5th... :xmad:
