Cummins announced plans Tuesday to reduce its professional workforce by up to 2,000 people by the end of the year.

The restructuring and cost-cutting measures are in response to third quarter revenue, down six percent from 2014.

The company expects to save $150-200 million by reducing its workforce.

A lot of the INGOers I know from the Columbus area work there. I wish them and the company well.

That said, the company has very publicly weighed in on some political issues in recent years, arguably a poor business decision?

Yeah, it's a pretty big and high profile job. My company is on the project. We have a guy out there every day, I'm the project manager for that job.

I didn't realize Pence worked for the city of Indianapolis. That's who Cummins struck the deal with in the article you posted. Anything to slam an icky Republican I suppose, honesty be damned.

Is there any news on the reason for the down turn? At the Bedford plant, they make heads for the Chevy/GM trucks and they're working 7 days a week just to try to keep up with sales.
