Hey Bob why don't you go ask the Marines yourself. I'm sure they would love to take you on a convoy and leave you there sans protection.

I went to Katrina for a week and was at Henryville the first night the tornadoes hit, and several days afterwards. No power, no cell phone service to call anyone for help, no lights, nothing but what one has on hand, and I can think of few things more to want than an "assault weapon" among my possessions during such a time if I had a home in those areas. There are only so many police during those times and everyone that I saw was doing the very best that they could, but that is when times are really raw and you better be able to defend what is yours. Until these fools ever experience anything like that, they should quit embarrassing themselves!
