I finally watched the video and it was tough. Cringe worthy is an understatement . . . painful. Regardless of the facts of the case when they all coalesce in the aftermath, to an observer like me, that cop looked very bad. His supervisor looked just as bad, spending all of that time telling the nurse why she was wrong instead of having a more appropriate talk with his officer. As an aside, the phlebotomist cop should be imprisoned for that hair.

I too am disappointed that the other police officers on the scene did not do something to prevent what Officer McSkullett did. It looked like the young guy tried and put a hand on his shoulder when he had clearly gone out of bounds, but then he pulled back and let it happen. I don't understand the inter-cop dynamics at play, but it was disappointing to see someone knew he should step in, but for some reason backed out.

Based on the video evidence, my layman's opinion is that Officer McSkullett should maybe be allowed to apply for a job a a phlebotomist - we don't know if he's incompetent at that skill set yet - but I don't think he should be in a position of authority over anyone else.

man this guy is a ****ing douche. "What does your lawyer know about this patient?" "Then I don't need to talk to them, they're useless to me." What an arrogant sob that needs to be flipping burgers.

I see no issue here. The only thing not happening is direct police to nurse contact. The police will have to go through another person to get what they want. In theory that person could have the same issues though their nurses would be shielded and can focus on actual patient care.

In addition it looks like the Payne was terminated by his part time paramedic employer.

I had the displeasure of placing a 24Fr catheter in a patient recently. For reference, imagine a bic pen. Yes, about that big around and about the length of my forearm, from elbow to fingertip. He was not pleased, nor was I.... I still shudder at the thought of it. Blessings, Bill
