So i can buy anything that says 922 compliant, but i cant buy any parts out of the US?
i dont really understand your question???

a 922 compliance part is a US part!

you have to have so many US parts in your otherwise unimportable rifle you are building !

You will have to look the exact US parts count on AKs up .... I am not an AK guy
    IANAL

ok if i turn it into a rifle i cant have more than 10 foriegn parts. Here's a list of the parts.

    (1) Frames, receivers, receiver castings, forgings or stampings *
    (2) Barrels *
    (3) Barrel extensions
    (4) Mounting blocks (trunions) *
    (5) Muzzle attachments *
    (6) Bolts *
    (7) Bolt carriers *
    (8) Operating rods
    (9) Gas pistons *
    (10) Trigger housings
    (11) Triggers *
    (12) Hammers *
    (13) Sears
    (14) Disconnectors *
    (15) Buttstocks *
    (16) Pistol grips *
    (17) Forearms, handguards *
    (18) Magazine bodies *
    (19) Followers *
    (20) Floorplates *

The 16 items marked with an asterisk are the parts that are generally found on a standard AK 47.

If i add a barrel extension to make it a rifle that would make have another compliance part making it 17 correct? I can only have 10. So i need to switch out 7 for US parts correct? i believe when the draco is imported they put a US trigger in it correct? How many parts does that count for? When i buy a stock that will take 1 away, then i'll buy a magazine which has 3 compliance parts which will take 3 away. Am i on the right track?

So i could buy this package 5 Piece US Compliance Package (Standard Grip) - $45.99
then buy a tapco magazine which is 3 compliance parts
and i would have the muzzle extension plus the muzzle brake, so thats 2
That would give me 10 US parts.

This would then by my updated list of foriegn parts. my foriegn parts are in bold.
    (1) Frames, receivers, receiver castings, forgings or stampings *
    (2) Barrels *
    (3) Barrel extensions
    (4) Mounting blocks (trunions) *
    (5) Muzzle attachments *
    (6) Bolts *
    (7) Bolt carriers *
    (8) Operating rods
    (9) Gas pistons *
    (10) Trigger housings
    (11) Triggers *
    (12) Hammers *
    (13) Sears
    (14) Disconnectors *
    (15) Buttstocks *
    (16) Pistol grips *
    (17) Forearms, handguards *
    (18) Magazine bodies *
    (19) Followers *
    (20) Floorplates *

I would only have 6 foriegn parts then.

It would then meet all regulations correct?

I'm pretty sure that if it has a stock the barrel has to be permanently at least 16 inches or it's an SBR.

I am an NFA noob too, but I also thought the barrel had to be permanently at least 16 inches or its a SBR. I don't think you can add a screw on fake suppressor to a barrel and call it a 16" barrel. I think you can add a permanently attached fake suppressor to a barrel and call it a 16" barrel.

Yes it has to be permanetly attached, either by welding, high-temp solder 1100* or more, or by attaching it with a pin and welding over the hole. Same goes with a barrel extension.
