    There's a ton of good choices, but I really like Springfield. There are cheaper, and there are better quality, but its tough to find one that balances the two so well.

    For the record, I find Colt 1911s to be overpriced. They are good guns, no question, but I think you pay a whole lot for the "Colt" stamped on the side. I never shot a Colt any better than I did a Springfield, both run like a Singer sewing machine, and for the cost difference I couldn't justify Colt.
