Occasionally a really good one at breakfast is just good.

Yup, yup, yup! Fresh, LOCAL GROWN musk melon is my fave. So much better than the CA greenhouse grown stuff that barely tastes like musk melon.

If any of you 'newbies' put out a home garden in the future..... plant a couple hills of musk melon. Just don't grow it right next to your onions or green peppers.

Yup, yup, yup! Fresh, LOCAL GROWN musk melon is my fave. So much better than the CA greenhouse grown stuff that barely tastes like musk melon.

If any of you 'newbies' put out a home garden in the future..... plant a couple hills of musk melon. Just don't grow it right next to your onions or green peppers.

Gardening tip: As soon as the melons are big enough (baseball/softball size), cut the bottom off an empty tin can (soup can, veggie can, whatever) and set the melons up on top of them. Keeps the bottom of the melon from getting "ground rot" and the open ends of the can allow water to flow through.

Oh, and watermelons, to me, taste like "summer".
