My wife bought this Sunday. Now I have a lot of work to get done before April.
Got it done enough to drive to cook outs on Memorial Day. Now that she has a few miles on it we have a list of small It’s to address.

When I was in college some fellow Brown Countians, two brothers,* that I grew up with went together and bought a used white Trans Am like this. Red interior. The guy they bought it from had purchased it new with no air conditioning because he didn’t want to drain any power off the 455 that was under the hood. Manual transmission. It was hotter than blazes in the summertime, but it would fly.

    * not using their names for privacy purposes but patience0830 and joe138 will remember them, may remember the car also.

70 years later, this machine is still beautiful, popular, and highly desirable.

I wonder how many current mass production vehicles from the "big three" will approach anything near that level of desirability 70 years from now. I will estimate it at or near none.

I don't think any of the current cars will be around even a few decades from now.

Even IF the government does not outlaw the fossil fuels and the EPA does not shut off the tap with emissions, they will be scrap. The entirety of all the integrated electronics and programming is already a difficulty by the time a car is 10 years old. The Dealers are struggling to diagnose and repair integration issues even with access to the engineering at the factory level.

There are cars in reasonable shape with lots of serviceable miles left in the mechanical elements that are scrapped because the electronic issues have already cost more than the value of the car.
