About 18 months ago I agonized over spending the money on an RIA 1911... Today my PT Evo grip for my STI based custom 2011 came in.
The grip alone cost as much as the Rock Island

We could go run some Rock Island Armory guns against an STI to see how it goes....just to make sure the money was well spent and all.

Im fresh off a buy. I actually have 3 buys in the past 1.5 months... I am in the planning stage as of now. But yea the 9mm kind of kills it for me. I need a .45. Maybe someday down the road but i like guns in their designed caliber...

1911 were retooled into 45 for a contract. 38super is original to thre design i believe. 9mm 1911s are a lot of fun.
