Japan never attacked us on our land?
    Hawaii?
    Alaska?
    West Coast with fire balloons?

East Coast shelling cities and sinking ships in territorial waters? (Germany)

    War of 1812?
Aside from the War of 1812 where the British literally touched land and burned the White House, I don't recall any of those being land based fights.

So my apologies for misspeaking. Yes, we have been attacked on our soil, but aside from the Brits in the War of 1812, and perhaps the Natives as well if you wanna go that way, no other nation has ever reached US soil to conduct a ground based attack, meaning no country has ever even attempted to control the USA in the ways other powers around the era did... except for the Brits – in which case they would be "retaking their land". Ha! How funny is that?

Imagine the Brits enter the "land back" movement or the reparations movement

Japan took several islands off Alaska.
    That was "touching land".
Guam was taken. That was land.
Philippines was taken. That was land.

The rest of the time, we've fought on other's land, to keep from fighting on our own.

All of which means nothing to the conversation of, wars are started on PERCEPTIONS of weakness.

If we get into another war it most likely will not be an invasion of the mainland US. It will be over some piece of land somewhere else in the world that is not really that important to us.

Act is right in that it will be because some other power will view us as weak then and not able to stop that power from doing whatever it is it tries to do. It will probably even be to counter that weak perception that the President counters in a way that gets us into a more widespread conflict.

As their economy tanks it appears they intend to save themselves via waging war. What better time? No one knows who is running the country, our military is a skeleton of what it was and should be, the economy is on the brink of collapse and it's an election year.

War is always good for the arms industry...until it's catastrophically bad for the whole country.
Just ask Hirohito or Hitler... May the chinese government learn the exact same lessons those dudes learned. I just hope for our sakes it doesn't go nuclear.
