I didn't see a thread dedicated to the best sandwich available in the state (and least likely to find anywhere other than Iowa).

    My top recommendations in Indianapolis:

    1). Southport Bar and Grill
    2). Billy O'neals
    3). Bourbon Street Distillery

Those are top 3 and clearly above the rest I've had. Others very close to one another and still leave you quite happy are:

    Sahm's(Fishers)
    Tie Dye Grill (Tuesdays only-Irvington)
    Plumps Last Shot(Broad Ripple)
    Oaken Barrel(greenwood)
    B&C's Hideout(New Palestine)
    Dawson's on Main (speedway)
Bugsy's(southeast-get the breaded mushrooms-not the avg breaded mushroom FYI)

Still a lot of places I haven't tried, but these will not disappoint.

The best I've had is this honky tonk joint in Norman. Last time I was there, it was closed but I heard it reopened.

I'm sure a lot of the places have a delicious breaded tenderloin, I've never tried one. But a small-town place down by me makes a pretty darn good one. It's call Holt's Cafe. They are nearly out of business and down to just a few days a week that they're open with odd hours but it's still a good tenderloin. You can walk in and see all the tenderloins soaking in buttermilk just over the counter and they bread them fresh. The bun leaves a bit to be desired as it's only a standard, king-size sandwich roll but the tenderloin is top-notch.

Green Street Station in Brownsburg makes a Beer-Battered tenderloin sandwich for which I will, quite literally, go out of my way to eat.

Main View in North Manchester is awesome. It's not a huge tenderloin and paper thin. It does overhang a 8" sub bun. But, it's thick and meaty.

Pitt's bar in Portland makes a good one too.

I want to try Mr. Dave's but I've never been in town when they're open.

I can't think of a breaded tenderloin sandwich that I didn't like. Salt, mustard and onions and I'm making the "nummy-nummy" sounds. Guess I'm easy to please. :dunno:

There is also a smaller pub off of 86th street (think its actually called 86th street pub) that has a tenderloin that you can supreme in which they add all the toppings and on top of that put ham and cheese and melt it....very good
