Could this be retribution for the empty g**** wishlist thread?I opened this thread thinking "cool, somebody got a new 1911," but the ending of this story makes me sad. Why would you buy a gun and not shoot it??

Why not take both to the range? I usually take as many as my range bag will hold, plus enough ammo to feed them all so no one gets jealous.I haven't had a 19:11 for a long time. I used to shoot them all the time in bullseye competition but I found myself without one.(a 1911)
Soooo.... a pure GI 1911 would do. A fully loaded 1911 would be nice- you know, one with a flared maxwell, 30 lpi front and backstrap, ambi oversized saftey, skeltonized hammer and trigger, external extractor( heresy!),loaded chamber indicator, tac rail, forward serations, optic cut, threaded barrel, suppressor height nite sites,and...we'll that's about it.
I chose a S&W Scandium frame 1911 out of their performance shop.Seems to be a notch above all the 9-1200$ Kimbers and springfields and "others*. Not up with the Wilson's aView attachment 262686nd Unobtainiums... but getting up on the ladder a bit.
Thought about shooting it, but thought "why?"... So I put it in the bottom of the safe(where most 1911-s live) and went and shot my trusted G-19...
Go figure
Not the same as shooting a performance center Smith. What if he buys a used 1911 that has been used some and shoots that, but keeps the nice one in the safe
More like paying for the slutty sisters boob job without ever getting to see or touch them in any form.Is that like dating the model’s slutty sister too?
Or for a tyrannical government to confiscate.Shoot it. The joy of a 1911 is found in its use. An unshot 1911 is just a thing. Don't save it for the next owner to enjoy.
A 1911 isn’t a 1911, til it’s loved ( and shot) by a kid…… ahh gun ownerShoot it. The joy of a 1911 is found in its use. An unshot 1911 is just a thing. Don't save it for the next owner to enjoy.
You know, I wish someone hadn't reused that name for double stacks.. it used to mean a double barrel 1911.I wouldn't bother shooting it. All the cool kids shoot 2011's now.
Oh, I had no expectations of where this would go. I'm glad I didn't tell folks about the 1973 6" Colt Python I got in the safe...still in the original shrink wrapped Styrofoam box and sleeve it came in...heck they'd want me to shoot it toothread didn't go the way OP thought it would.
No. We'd want you to buy a second one to shoot. One for showin' - one for shootin'.Oh, I had no expectations of where this would go. and maybe a 3rd......for parts.....because things can break. Then there's that other saying....No. We'd want you to buy a second one to shoot. One for showin' - one for shootin'.
