The actual "problem" is that most people just want to live a happy/unfettered existence as best we can. Get up in the morning, enjoy some breakfast or a cup of coffee. Go to work. Satisfy whatever requirements were made of you throughout the day. Pay your bills. Return to your home, make certain everyone you love is safe and secure, fill your belly and go to bed so you can get up tomorrow and do it all over again.
Everything else in the world are powers pulling us one direction or another trying to influence and direct behavior. Media, entertainment, politicians, what it comes down to is power/control granted by the masses through endorsement and consent, either actively or passively.
When the scales are tipped to become an annoyance to the everyday existence then passive consent starts to evaporate.
When those with social power start to direct social behavior that impedes upon the individual's ability to go through their day without being assaulted with messages that run counter to their core values, consent is withdrawn and resentment builds.
So we end up with active and passive resentment just waiting to be channeled. A little active resentment can be a good thing, too much in a wrong or unintended direction and you end up in places none of us want to be.
Beware those that revel in active resentment.
Just my view from the tractor.
