Which ever one fits you best and you shoot the best. Also the one that you are going to practice with. What works well for me might not work well for you.

Here is mine. It's a Kimber Tactical Ultra II, feels great in my hand, I like the caliber (.45) and has all the carry features I wanted.

    Good luck on your search.

(by the way the Bersa you metioned is a good gun.)

I'll second the kimber tactical. worth every penny:rockwoot:

I have been reading the replies. Thanks for all the great info. My Internet research was just to get a feel for what models most people prefer. I am now looking at those models at local stores that carry them, and also visiting a couple of shops that have ranges to try them out. Thanks for a great group of responses. What a great forum

I'm joining this discussion a bit late, but I'd like to add one more thing to think about for a carry gun. That is, be sure to find one you can afford to shoot as well as being one that fits. If you cannot afford to shoot it on a regular basis, you may not want to carry it. I imagine a 9mm that can be practiced with regularly will serve you better than a .45 that busts your budget.

The best carry gun is always:

    1. the one that you WILL carry, instead of leave at home, because it is uncomfortable or inconvenient.

    2. the one you feel comfortable with, both in terms of accuracy, and your confidence that it will go bang every time you pull the trigger

J frame Smith&wesson will not jam and will save your life, hands down most reliable, and easy to carry handgun but not for everyone because of its low capacity and poor sights.
